The idea of teaming rugby and insurance together appears tenuous at first, however as a mum with a 10 year old boy, who enjoys his weekends playing for his local rugby team, I recently took on the role of team secretary at the Exeter Saracens.

Having seen first hand the amount of time and effort that goes into running a successful club , I am currently organising a huge local Rugby Festival Event held at our club on the 9th of April for the under 10s with over 38 teams from across Devon attending. This has taken a tremendous amount of organising with the help of volunteers and very little funding, relying on the help of local businesses for sponsorship and donations, as well as the time and effort the parents and committee who put in to help.

My son’s sports club is a key part of his life, keeping him fit and healthy as well as making great friends and developing his social skills. And for those reasons, I really appreciate how much various sports clubs rely on volunteers, the community and local businesses to keep clubs going and provide the equipment and facilities our children need.

Our Free Tenners scheme recognise the amount of time and effort that goes into running a successful club and the importance to the health and well-being of the next generation, but that also these clubs often have limited funding, so if you, like myself are involved in a sports club and looking to raise funds, our Free Tenners scheme could really help you.
